When a group of five anime-loving guys finds a magic bottle, they might reveal their different… philosophies. While it could start as a fun way to voice ridiculous wishes, there is always going to be that tinge of hope that it might be real.
“I wish vocaloids were real!”
“You never shut up about that shit. Those things are old now. And they sound bad. You know what, I wish they were real—and that everyone could see how shitty they are!”
“What!? I’m with him. I wish I could meet one. No—I want her to perform for me every day!”
“I wish they made one that’s hot, like with a huge rack. The kind that would give you that “you degenerate” look, but was secretly in love with you. I think it would be popular!”
“I just wish I was a cute anime girl. Vocaloid or whatever.”
The forces inside the bottle hurriedly worked to solve the group of wishes before it could get any more complicated. An efficient solution was soon discovered.

That is how he became Yowane Haku, the terrible-sounding alternate of Miku. Fortunately, as vocaloids are mostly blank slates, her old memories could be retained. Only a few small changes had to be forced into her mind—a love for performing, a brash exterior, and the occasional intrusive thought about her guy friends.
The new star, with nothing to her name and no future outside of singing people’s homemade songs, was completely dependent upon her old friends until her career could get going. They couldn’t get enough of her, and she couldn’t make herself dislike them, even letting them mooch off of her eventual success. And just as the wish had foretold, her voice was terrible. And she knew it, and she hated it, but nothing could suppress her insatiable desire to sing. To the fans, it didn’t matter. It was no secret that they only liked her because of certain… other qualities. That, and her depressed and negative attitude.
