Daniel was wishing that he and his friend had never used magic for stupid bets. He and Stephen were both fans of the Love Live anime but argued over who was the best girl, so they decided to settle it for good. Whoever’s waifu won in a popularity poll, the other guy would have to be turned into them, and follow him around for the day, doing everything they were told.

It ended up as a perfect tie. Stephen got an idea. “Let’s both transform. We’ll still do everything that we tell each other. It’ll be hot!” Daniel wanted to try something else to break the tie, but before he could object, he felt fuzziness all over as Stephen’s magic already started transforming both of them. He concentrated on his own changes, feeling them with his hands as they came. He felt his bust and ass growing out, though not by a huge amount, and the room seemed to get bigger as he shrunk down. His black hair grew out into two pigtails. He noticed the mental changes coming. They were only supposed to be subtle changes, so they could act more like the characters. That’s what they agreed to…

Some thoughts came across his mind. Thoughts that he shouldn’t be thinking. “Hey, these characters aren’t supposed to be in love with each other. You’ve been reading too much of that fanfiction…” She saw that Stephen was concentrating hard on the magic, and she hoped that he’d heard. Shortly after, the changes stopped, and she could think clearly again. She was still Daniel, she thought, but being in Nico’s body was starting to feel very weird, and oddly familiar. Something was wrong. But it would all be worth it if she could tease her friend and make her regret this.

She was ready to go out, and she couldn’t wait to force her friend to kiss her in public and embarrass her. But… she felt something different. Her friend looked very, very cute. Maki looked very cute. She never took that waifu thing seriously, it was supposed to be a joke, but…

There was no getting around it… she was in love. She loved Maki. But it was wrong, that wasn’t really Maki. She didn’t love Stephen, her friend… did she? It didn’t matter. She grabbed her, pulling her towards her face and kissing her. She felt her, or him, whoever it was, trying to resist, trying to push off her feelings. She persisted, and her friend gave in, reciprocating the kiss. The feelings of her new body, the mix of emotions and thoughts going through her head, it was too much. She pushed them onto the bed. Grabbing more frantically, they took off each other’s clothes, all while messily kissing and touching each other…

The whole day passed like that. When it ended, both of them completely exhausted, normal thoughts returned. She realized what they had done. It was wrong, so wrong. She couldn’t live like this, she couldn’t let part of her personality be from a fictional character, she couldn’t let her friend’s magic do this to them… She looked back, and saw her friend with a gentle smile. Maki’s face, the face of her favorite character, and now, the face of her friend, and her love. She knew then. There was nothing she could do, there was no going back.
